The rave reviews and general acclaim that Saransh has received so far convinces me that we Indians are really modest people. We have such a low opinion of ourselves and our capabilities that every time a film which should be considered a two and a half star melodrama appears, we begin to hail it as a masterpiece. The few geniuses who are cussed enough to survive in our midst, such as a Satyajit Ray, rarely get their films widely distributed in India.
